Let me be frank here. If you liked how the first was written then you'll probably enjoy this one as well. If you weren't satisfied by book one and were hoping for change then you probably shouldn't bother. There is still a bit of character development and the main character is still ridiculously overpowered and the way other characters act towards only gets more outlandish and over the top. There are a few editing errors spaced throughout the book.One of the main reasons that I still enjoyed the series so far even though I feel that it could be so much more is the pacing. The book doesn't mess around. So far there hasn't been much filler at all and moves at a break neck pace. I would say this helps cover a lot of the faults that I found with the book.

The author has given us a spellbinding ending. I am now convinced that the author is an ANCIENT DRAGON. The way the story is told I believe that she was there. The next installment has to be fantastic. I am hoping that it will be published soon.PLEASE. I feel that not reading this series would be a mistake on any reader of Fantasy, Sword and Sorcery type books.
A Great Book, One Of My Favorite Series By Far, But That Ending Was One I Didn't Understand And Didn't Like But Make A #3 Book, I LOVE THIS BOOK SO PLZZ MAKE A NEW ONE,!!!!! I've read this book for 2 years now over and over so make a new one please!!
The grammar errors are more distracting. Should versus the intended she is very bad editing. While the epic battle is building towa d a climax Alex is learning more manic and being less talkative with Andera. On the whole an action packed story that could benefit from better editing!
This novel was incredibly enjoyable read. I sat here on christmas and breezed through the novel. Gabriel walks a fine line where he seems to cut through sections of major moments as he sticks to his two distinct viewpoints, but it also leads to a lot of action, training and dramatic moments so it is tough to put down. I would have loved a little more of the details and a less abrupt conclusion, but this was certainly an exciting read.
If you liked the first in you are in for more of the same. For a young writer Gabriel spins a great story. Pacing is great and he knows how to leave you on the edge of your seat. Interesting concepts and to me it is just a fun read. I can get past grammar and some course sentences. This young man has a bright future. The downside is going to be waiting for the next book. This is a perfect example of what is doing right. If we only had the publishing gate keepers we would never have seen this story. Take a chance and read this series it is worth it.
This is the story of a boy coming of age before he was even aware what was happening. For me, there were a few times that I really did get a little lost in some of the magical descriptions simply because I wasn't paying close attention. The ending was such a surprise that I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!
This was a fun read. I only had a couple of issues with it. First and foremost I wish the author would be more descriptive when introducing characters. All of the descriptions are incredibly brief and I often find myself wondering what someone looks like. Secondly there are quite a few grammatical errors. If that is something that really bothers you then you might not want to read this. For 99 cents though this is a good book, short book. I liked it and will buy the next book.
